Name | City | notes | |
1. | Adam's Mountain Cafe | Manitou Springs, Co | happiest place on earth |
2. | Montague's Parlour | Colorado Springs, Co | under $2 for bottomless coffee and comfortable couches for hours at a time. do most of my programming here. too bad jen had to leave. she was always nice to chat to there |
3. | Prague Cafe | Kunming, China | aka "bilage kafeiguan." wonderful people. spent tons of time there while i was in kunming. can't wait to go back |
4. | Phantom Canyon | Colorado Springs, Co | $2 pints and free pool? can't beat that. |
5. | Nook | San Francisco, Ca | so great! |
note: this list is not the top five restaurants, implying food is what puts it on the list. rather, this list is comprised of the greatest places to go in the world to eat, drink coffee, etc, while hanging out and enjoying yourself. all of these places are places that i could easily spend hours at without feeling unwelcome, uncomfortable, or eager to leave.
i've noticed that there aren't many chicagoland places on this list. i think chicago has some of the greatest food in the world, but most places are either real expensive or not the kind of place you go sit in forever. the food is soooo good though

5. | Cafe Epicure | Sarasota, Fl | they have good sandwiches. and you can sit outside. and they're usually very nice there. the water tastes funny, though, as a warning. |
