when 3 + 1 = 8
so because of my little visa problem, i lost two days of work here in vietnam. i pushed my return date back, so nothing was lost except a bit of a headache and some personal time.
my job was to set up the router. potentially, something that'd take up about 2 hours, plus a little bit of other work totaling about a day. the other two days were for security, in case something went wrong.
well, something went wrong. verizon apparently assigned the wrong IP address, so i need to stick around until they fix it. but they're lazy bastards, so that won't be until monday morning. central time. so i can't leave until at earliest tuesday, but to be safe, i'm staying til wednesday.
so a quick painless three day trip, after a single little problem, has quickly become eight.
i'm starting to like saigon, though. it's a pretty cool city. loads of people. and vietnamese sounds funny. and the food is good (though not much veggie stuff). and the weather's nice. and i get tomorrow off because i can't do anything until verizon wakes up.
