translations

two things.

first, THE jack connor sent me a text message the other day and asked me to translate something for him. JACK CONNOR! jack connor asked me to translate something! into chinese!

second, my friend maggie from hong kong sent me an email in traditional, aka "crazy", chinese. it was the kind you'd get from aunt julie of a bunch of uplifting quotes about how "impossible" is only in a fool's dictionary (that was number 3). anyway, her english is fantastic, so i know she was only doing it to make me feel special, but it worked! it took me a while to translate, and i did use a dictionary for a few (and a chinese girlfriend), but hoorah! it was great! thanks [not sister] maggie!

1. 每天告訴自己一次，『我真的很不錯』。
once a day, say to yourself, "i really am not bad".

2. 你可以用愛得到全世界，你也可以用恨失去全世界。
with the power of love, you can bring peace to the world; with the power of hate, you can make it leave.
