dude, where's my vacation?
sadly, my vacation is coming to an end. hard to believe, but i've been out of china for nearly two full weeks. it's been a big blur, as i've been trying to squeeze several weeks into ten days.
today was the second day, really, that i've had time to think about it and digest. and i've realized:
i've had a great time, from the pierro's pizza i was welcomed home with, to the bachelor stag party last night. i have no regrets, and don't wish really anything was different (except more time at home, more time in the springs, more time with this person and that, and more time here in golden, etc).
but i still feel like i haven't had much of a vacation. all told, i've had one afternoon to relax. to unwind. to digest what has happened, both prior to my arrival in the states and after. i've had almost no time to recharge before going back to work.
it's kind of the way block breaks inevitably were. after 4 weeks of working and studying, i'd try to squeeze as much into those five days as possible, usually ending up more exhausted than before.
i knew this was going to happen. and again, i have no regrets. i'm just a little bummed that i haven't had a lot of time to read (ha!) or write in my journal, go for walks, etc. i'm excited for the wedding tomorrow, and to see simonite down in texas (really, i can't wait). i just hope the few days in between aren't too full, and that i can have some time to relax and recharge.
[sidenote: i've been reading the newspaper a lot, for the first time in ages. it's really great! so i'll have to add that to my mid-year resolutions as well]
