a quick visit
so block two starts today: partial differential equations. it'll be good to be back in a concrete applied mathematics class. no more of that hand-wavy reach-for-anything abstract stuff. meanwhile, my mom and sister nell are, since nell is moving to santa cruz and they're driving out together. last night we went to poor richards for a lovely evening of soup salad and wine (with a touch of pizza). our sleep schedules are vastly different. though it saddens me that they'll only be here for a day and a half; they head out on tuesday morning, which seems to be all too soon. today after class, we're going on a picnic at garden! it should be fun. on a different note, i should be posting my photos from aspen soon. i'll let you know when, but be sure to check ever now and then!

Had such a good time with you and your pals, Pete. The time did pass far too quickly tho. Am safely home in Chicago. The trip was a gift: spending time with Nell, you, and my brother and Connie will make me smile for a long time. An added bonus: this is an incr3dibly beautiful and diverse country! Eager to see the pics from Aspen.
