new layout
so i've spent the last few days writing a new layout. it's taken me quite a bit of time, but surprisingly much less time than i had expected. there are a few noticeable changes. for example, there is no longer an alert thing that comes up if there's something new. instead, the links on the left will change. on the left, also, there are the most recent post-its and top five lists. i may change this to also have recent blogs (though those are rare) and/or wall posts. i've been advised, however, to keep the left sidebar simple. so we'll see how that goes. i still have quite a bit to change, so give me time. i have to get back into the working groove tomorrow, so i may be busy and tired. still to change are the top fives icon (which is strictly temporary right now), the link colors, top five searchability (which i had to disable a while back... i want to get it back up and running). there have been some other changes which you probably won't notice, but the cleaner code makes me feel better about myself. please let me know if you have any suggestions. i do apologize for any bugs or flaws; i've rewritten quite a bit of the code, as well as the new layout. i have not tested it in any non-mozilla browser (safari, the damned and cursed microsoft internet explorer, etc), so the colors may look weird. if i had discipline, i'd not upload this until i had, but i'm just too excited. enjoy!

Wow, TOTALLY DIFFERENT. I like it though, much easier to navigate and more attractive, in my opinion.

i like the new colors, good choices, the layout is better too. biggest problem i have with it is its too wordy with updates on the left. i think its cool with the "whats new" kind of section, but might be too much, can u make it so its just one section, and everytime you open the page it cycles from like recent posts to recent post-its and so on? the upper right corner feels a little empty, maybe it needs a little icon, say peterdot, something like that. link colors and icons your changing so thats good. i think you need to establish your reads. like right now when i go to your home page i see "travel photos" first then go to the icons, then just bounce around. not sure what u want me to go to first. also how many different fonts are u using? i think u need to unify them more, use only one maybe two different types and explore between condesended and extended bold and so on versions. overall i think its a good improvement, looks less "look at me i have website" kind of site. hehe. hope some of these commments help
