a taste of southern comfort
so i've now been in texas for almost two months (!), and have rarely been able to see the warmth of southerners we yankees hear about from folk down south.
my car broke down some time last week, and i just found out that i won't get it back for at least another few days. i've been getting rides to and from work from people in the IT department, but i can tell that they're getting pretty tired of it, so i offered -- insisted -- to walk. i barely made if forty feet out the door when a younger guy in a pickup asked me if i wanted a ride. i asked which direction he was going in and he said "whichever way you're going" (not in a creepy way), so i jumped in. he works in inside sales-- very nice fellow.
and so, after two months, it feels good to taste that southern comfort.
comments:
wow, thats awesome. Was it his offering of "I've got candy...." that sold you? By the way, Southern Comfort isn't a bad drink either, had it for the first time here about a month ago. Pleasantly surprised.

Southern Comfort tastes like marshmallows, dirt, and fire.
