sawdust & diamonds
i recently saw joanna newsom perform with the austin symphony orchestra. to say the very least, the show was incredible.
i won't go into a whole analysis of the show, mainly because my use of language wouldn't allow me to even come close to describing it, but also because it was kind of magical and i'd like to keep it that way.
all i will say is that the song 'sawdust & diamonds' somehow gets better and better every time i hear it. it was incredible the first time i saw her, it was amazing when i saw her do it last week, and it was fantastic every time in between.
so, in my opinion, you should all listen to that song.
comments:
magical is a good word to describe seeing her.
not only is her performance of this song magical, but so is her poetic genius. i don't think there is better evidence of it than this song. except maybe only skin, it's so romantic. sigh.
