on being grateful

i have a lot to be grateful for. i really do. i like my life, my friends, my family, my girl, my setup in general (not necessarily in that order).

i also like the fact that i just bought a legitimately unlocked iPhone 3G from hong kong. for a little bit more money (and not a lot more!), i bought an iPhone 3G that i can legitimately use anywhere in the world with any SIM card.

this is a big deal people. i've been using a "hacked" iPhone for too long. while it does the trick, it's cheating, it's inconvenient, it's dangerous, and it's frustrating. every time a new update comes out, i'm dying to use it. but i can't. i need to wait. and wait. and then the iPhone gods give me a special version, which can work with my "hacked" iPhone, such that i can continue to use my iPhone here in China without paying $170 per month. no more AT&T headaches, no more high bills. no more dying impatience when apple releases a new super cool update that has google street view.

just a wonderful device, that i shall keep close to my heart, wherever i go, whenever i go.

and the best part is that i'm selling my old one for just a hair less than i bought the new one for! i love the free market! sorry, GM, i'm not sure what you did wrong. maybe you just need a super awesome friend in hong kong! thanks hong kong maggie!
